This is the traditional way of practicing and learning the Ashtanga yoga method. You will practice at your own pace and given individual guidance and adjustments when necessary. The sequence is taught pose by pose (so you may start with a relatively short practice). When you are ready, the next pose is added. Committing the sequence to memory and practicing with a focus on the breath allows to direct our attention inward and evolves the physical practice into a moving meditation. Beginners are always welcome, HOWEVER if you have never practiced this form before you will need to commit to a minimum of three practices per week. Mysore Drop inns and Led classes are only for practitioners already familiar with the system.
Guided first half of the primary series all the way through navasana.
Do not eat before practice! Leave at least three hours between eating a meal and your practice. Do not drink water during practice, but wait until after you have rested. Please inform if you have any injuries, health problems or if you become pregnant so your practice can be adjusted accordingly. A shower before practice helps to increase flexibility and focus.
